Those crazy japanese guys did it again.
This time some crazy guy put liquid nitrogen on his cpu and dry-ice cooling on his Radeon-9700pro videocard.
Here is a screenshot of his cpu speed and his 3dmark score
And here a little image of his comp setup while he was running the test.................
Its a shame that this is a one-time experiment which will probably destroy his mainboard. (you can see the ice on his mobo right by the cpu..)
I think that people can get pretty close to this with a phase-change cooling system on their cpu and videocard. (like vapochill or prometia cooling)

Dude, I am not nearly that mad. My 14279-odd works 24/7, unlike that and I am running 1.2ghz slower too and running my VGA at stock speed.
'Wow, I know what would be cool. I'l blow the **** out of a small fortune's worth of equipment so that I can bask in the geeky glory of my machine being being the fastest in the world for 15 minutes'
Im have no idea why they do this, but I have have seen this sort of setup a fair few times over the last 2 years or so....
Madness..
Nick.

There was a great link in /. yesterday too - a bloke not only using liquid nitrogen, but dosing the whole mobo in fluronert (I think) which is an inert, non-conductive fluid... Cooled via liquid nitrogen.
Unfortunately, he cooled it below it's pour point and things got messy.
Then he tried cooling the CPU with liquid nitrogen. And the PC went icky... Capacitors don't like extreme cold, it would appear!
