I've got to provide estimates of memory used per 1000 connections and CPU cycles used per 1000 connections on both Intel and Sparc.

It's all a bit vague as I don't know whether it's serving straight HTML files, ASP, JSP, Java etc. but I wondered if anyone knows where I can get some tools to at least generate some examples of loads.

Cheers,

Phil

You'd better clarify that first then Apache comes with ab (ApacheBench) for benchmarking, but there are many others; http_load, httperf, Daquiri, a google search on "webserver benchmarking" will bring those up, and more.

No can do, I have to answer for all technologies

I didn't give numbers in the end, just explained why we'd have to take a best guess and test/modify from there.

Cheers,

Phil
