Gastro -

I use Titan Internet, my e-mail account has a 10mb limit on it, I'm not sure what they're WebMail account is like but worth a try. Excellent service from Lee et al, does exactly what it says on the tin.

No connection with company, just happy customer

hiya gastro, have a look at hostplus for webspace and email. it is not free but for £20/year including all charges and fees, you get 50mb of webspace, 50 emails, domain name register and other goodies.

i am not connected with them, i just registered a domain name with them and they are good .

I got broadband from BT wholesale - I just pay for the connection & hence need a good webmail facility - from a company that isnt going to go under and leave me without an e-mail account (!)
Titan looks good........ hostplus looks expensive for the webspace (double the price of Titan)....

Any other tips ?

Try www.hostonce.com, for £1.75 a month you get a free domain name, unlimited web space / bandwidth and unlimited pop3 email accounts with webmail clients, which you can store/send unlimited size emails.

Rik.

(Normally its £.50 a month, but as I'm a current member I can get it you for half price with a URL I have)

That last price should read £3.50.

as for your "freezing"... are you using USB or Ethernet to connect to the adsl modem?

Suba,

USB connection..... via a 5 USB AGP card <eek> - I can just see people wincing at 'what an awful setup' !!!!!! But the freezing happens only occassionally - even if it is attachedd to the motherboards native USB slot.......

Any ideas ?

have a check here...

in IE, goto tools/internet options. then connections tab, click on settings and then advanced. untick both options.

btw, have you got outlook express running when it freeze? sometimes outlook will disconnect you if it is set to connect and disconnect with the email server.

have a look at bto faq. maybe setup your newsgroup to access bto related newsgroup.
