My Dad has signed up for this, but when I installed the Adsl modem it says the computer needs 'Ndiswan' installed and it doesnt have it. The pc is no more than a year old, running ME. But it's a Gateway (now bust so no helpline) and BT cant help - they say it's not their problem. I have tried Microsoft - no help at all. I have tried Alcatel (Modem manufacturers) - no help either.

Please Please Please - this is so frustrating and short of upgrading to XP, I dont know where to turn. Can anybody help ?

Hello

Try posting your question on bbs.adslguide.org.uk

They seem to know the answer to even the most obscure ADSL related questions.

NDISWAN is a system-supplied NDIS intermediate driver that provides functionality such as data compression, encryption, loopback, and simple PPP framing that is used by WAN miniport drivers. WAN miniport drivers are therefore required to implement only those features that are specific to the medium (for example, Q931 signaling required for ISDN).
This basically means that the NDISWan is installed off your Windows ME CD when you install a modem.

Have a further look at the Microsoft Technet if you need anymore info.
