Pop up adis in IE

Every time I launch IE now I get a couple of pop up ads appear. I still get my normal home page, but a couple of extra windows too.
I'm pretty careful about downloading or letting things run on my PC, so I'm not sure how they got there - but they are annoying!
Anyone know how to get rid of them ?

I used Ad-aware, available here http://www.lavasoftusa.com/. Did a great job and even found some hidden stuff
