I set up a holiday related website a few years back, but it was hopeless as the market was already saturdated, and it is generally covered by the blue chips (such as my last employer, Airtours).
As long as it is different from the rest it should work.
You would need several million hits PER MONTH to make any money out of banner ads, rather than per year.
