Solaris route add command, is this correct

Question

route add -net (NETWORK) netmask (MASK) (INTERFACE) (Metric)

ie

route add -net 10.10.16.1 netmask 255.255.240.0 194.164.3.1 1

surely (INTERFACE) would be ethernet 0 or whatever?

yep you need to specifiy the specific card you are doing it for - eg hme0 or le0........

Yup got it done in the end (didn't take all this time by the way )

Needed to add -netmask, that's what I was doing wrong

<Pedant> The 10.10.16.1 should be 10.10.16.0 so its the network address not just an address in that subnet.</Pedant>
