The X-ecuter does....

Direct boot all backups
Direct boot all homebrew
Direct boot all original imports
Macrovision protection off
DVD dongle lock off
Evolution-X 100% compatible
No patches hack
No reset or eject hack
HDD patch for larger hard drives

One thing I would warn people about though it that even though it says it will boot ALL backups, given the quality of the drive in the Xbox you may find that it won't recognise the DVDR. I found this out after having the Enigmah chip fitted (the chip doesn't have any control over whether the drive recognises the disc media)

I have used these before when I got a PS2 with neo chip with no problems, & am going to give them a ring today. BUT I would still prefer a local source if poss.

druddle, that middle link is great & has answered a lot of my questions, BUT I am still a bit unsure of something, when they refer to a dongle, are we talking usb external plugin then ??
does this then allow you to play vcd's, multiregion ?? or is it just original dvd's but multiregion ??

Looks like the X-Ecuter DVDX is purely a software CD that you run once and it patches the XBox software to take the region dependency out. You have to plug some sort of dongle in, but not sure what. The v2 of the DVDX will be software only thing.

This is entirely seperate to the X-Ecuter modchip.

Thumbs up

The X-Ecuter DVDX region changer works with the Enigmah chip as well. I should know, just tried it

It permanently resets the Xbox to region free BUT you do still need to buy the DVD remote kit to enable dvd playback.

so lads, you get the xecutor chip to play backup games1 solder which is great, don't know how much they are though ??

then you need the dvd region software which flashes the bios & enables multiregion,
but what is the remote playback bit ??

thanks for the input on this.

Wink

1 solder, far too technical for a mere IT bod like me
I'll just buy one with it fitted, so prob about £60 extra then inc.
Otherwise if I do it meself, with me match-box soldering iron & fuse the main board, then I'll be fcuked....
