When my Windows 98SE computer boots up, it asks for my password which nobody uses as they just select CANCEL. Can anybody tell me how to remove this password function as I can't seem to be able to do it.

change the password and set it to blank, ie nothing

 

You can always download TweakUI. When you run it, it allows you to disable the log on/off feature.

Do a search for .pwl files, find the one relevant to your name & delete it.

Next time you will be prompted for a password, leave it blank, press enter - never asked again
