having had my Xbox since day one I'm now getting thoroughly pi55ed off with the games line up to date.

I've got Halo, Rally Champ, DOA3, Munch and PGR and have been waiting for the next "gotta buy" game to be released.....needless to say theres nothing on even the distant horizon, and with Unreal Champ slipping to Dec 02 I'm now seriously thinking of buying a 'Cube when Mario SS gets released.

Anyone else fed up with their Box?

Neil

Question

I think it's the same with most new consoles isn't it? Some choice games at launch, then a delay while everyone works up to the new standard. PS2 took a good while to get a large range of quality titles as far as I can remember. I've got xbox and a cube, and the number of quality cube titles can be counted on one hand IMHO.

I think the launch date matters as well. Traditionally summer's really quiet for major title releases, most people go for the xmas season.

Have you finished Halo on Legendary yet? That'll keep you occupied for ever as far as I can tell.

CM3 won't be!... maybe

They've already done loads of marketing stating the date. So they must be pretty confident.

I'm glad the games aren't here, it's summer after all. What I don't need right now is an addiction to stick me to the sofa. Morrowind is out soon'ish, I'll get that.

like neil, I bought the x-box as soon as it was out. I had a strange idea that with MS behind it, and the box being a scaled down pc etc , I was looking forward to some top games more or less straight away, i.e, as a decent game came out on PC it would automatically carry over to the X-box. every box game i have had up to now has held my interest for about 20 minutes.

I am seriousley considering buying a s/h ps2. I have had a decent pc for the last 3 yrs, and played most of the FPS games that have been out. However addictictive that particular pc game was at the time ( RTCW, IGI etc ), I would still spend the same amount of time gaming on the PS2 thar i had before the xbox.

it may be just my personal opinion, but there has never been anything to top RES or metal gear on any platform. My xbox just sits by the telly now gathering dust. If these type or quality of games were available it would get the same amount of hammer the ps2 used to get, even the upcoming releases dont look too exciting.

mj.

dissapointed xbox owner.

Red face

yeah morrowind might be good, CMcRae will be just the same as Rallye Sport (good game at best) but where are the killer games? Halo appears to be about it.

Whats happened to Yager? Knights of the Old Republic?

For the time being the Xbox is a big DVD player that occaisonally comes out when we have friends over to play PGR or DOA3. Thats it tho.

To my mind the GC looks like a much better option at present....

@NeilT & MJ,
So what kind of games are you interested in??
Here are some games which are already out or will be released soon for the Xbox:
Must have titles:
- Amped Freestyle Snowboarding
- Jet Set Radio Future
- Gunvalkyrie
- Brute Force
- Sega GT 2
- Colin 3
- Panzerdragoon Orta
- Blinx
- Psychonauts
- Morrowind
- Project Ego
- Splinter Cell
- Murakumo
...
I could go on and on, but you should better check out some websites like: www.teamxbox.com
Too bad that you don't like the games for the Xbox so far, since I sure do!! Oh, and don't forget to look forward to Xbox-Live!!!

Xbox Live = The Broadband Online Gaming for Xbox, which will come in autumn 2002. Incl. Headset-Unit(headphones/microphone). I saw a preview video on IGN.com a while ago, sorry I can't find the video anymore, but here is an article regarding this:
http://xbox.ign.com/articles/363/363607p1.html
Hope this helps..
Cheers
