Would now be a good time to mention that designing websites for any resolution is a bad thing?!?
My old Laptop ran at 1024x480, and surfing to sites which assumed 800x600 and didn't support scrolling, etc, was a right-royal PITA.
I currently run with a desktop of 2560x1024, but I usually have IE in a small window in the corner, so don't necessarily want to be forced to resize it just 'cos some plonker couldn't write HTML well enough to make the site work regardless of the amount of desktop real-estate available....

What's your content?
What are you trying to present?
Standard guide is that 13 words is about right for a line of text, so make this the width of your central information.
Content is king. Presentation is nice. All too often websites forget this.

Either set your main table to 760px wide, NOT 800 as this will give you slight horizontal scroll, or make it dynamically resize.
Here's an (unfinished) design I did that sizes to the browser res automatically:

Mark, I noticed that too!
For a company that could potentially be respraying your car, I think it might be a good idea to exhibit a better choice of colours on the site!
Si, if you've not already seen it, take a look at www.coolhomepages.com. 100s of the best looking sites on the planet, perfect for inspiration and forums as well. Be warned that they are quite harsh with criticism though!

Yeah, don't go for any particular resolution. You may think 800x600 is a 'nice size' but there's always some bugger viewing at 1600x1200!!
Scale everything eg. set your widths as percentages, etc... so your site looks good at any rez.
