secure remote/ zone alarm conflict

i use zone alarm as personal f/w and am trying to run vpn sessions using secure remote. I shut down ZA when setting up vpn but am still having trouble authenticating.
any ideas/ useful links?

If I read this correctly, you are having problems authenticating even when ZA is turned off ?
If this is correct you'll need to speak to the people who manage the Checkpoint Firewall that your trying to get too. If your having problems getting through when you turn ZA on again then you need to allow Port 500 in from the Firewalls IP address (open up port 50 while your there as well).

disable zonealarm on startup, reboot and try again. then you know for sure it's zonealarm causing the problem. do a ctrl-alt-del and check that there's nothing from zonealarm is loaded.
