phone socket/cat5 insertion tools - are plastic ones crap?
Hi,
I am trying to put the twisted pair cables into a cat5 socket, but I only have a plastic insertion tool - doesn't seem to be doing it very well.
Is it me or is the tool crap? Do I need a metal one?
The wires just don't seem to be getting pushed home very well.

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?
buy a krone insertion tool... they are cheap and make it a lot easier...
(assuming they are krone style...)

The placcy ones are OK if used for one or two sockets then thrown away.
I use the Krone IDC tool (same as BT guys use). Brilliant providing you remember to hold it the right way round (otherwise it trims the cables about 2mm too short)
