Cable Broadband

Had Telewest install broadband Internet on one of our home PCs (Win98) - runs fine. Having attached the modem to my PC (Win2k)it failed to work until I keyed in all the relevant info i.e. IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, etc. into the Internet Protocol properties.
The problem I now have is that once the lease runs out for the 24hrs the modem will not transmit / receieve until I re-connect it back up to the other PC and 'renew' the lease. I have also run CMD on mine and tried ipconfig/renew but get the error message: No adapters bound to TCP/IP are enabled for DHCP.
Is there any way of configuring my PC to the settings on the other PC so it can renew the lease?
P.S. I rung the Telewest helpline but the are very cagey about this.

Had a similar problem with mine a few months ago. Caused by firewall rules being incorrectly set up. IP address is supposed to be reassigned every ? hours, but Firewall blocked it, so all connections die.

Thanks for the advice.
I changed the settings on my firewall to allow the IP to be re-assigned but still no joy. The other PC, which it works fine on, has the same firewall.
