Angry

Got myself a DSL connection recently and it has been good but the more you surf, the more and more pop-ups and anoying (and offensive ) short-cuts and favourites keep appearing when you don't want them.

One that is getting on my t1ts is the lop.com search engine.

Anyone kow how to kill this 'cookie' or whatever it is?

I don't know how I picked it up but something must be lurking on my PC and I get it popping up everytime I try to search for something and can't find it.

I looked at my Add/Remove programs tool but I can't see anything in there.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,
Stephen

delete all your cookies? do a search on your registry for the pop-up name. you might wanna install some sort of anti-spyware/trojan software like ad-adware.

I got caught by that too. It puts a cookie on your hard disk and also sets your IE homepage and default search page to be lop.com

I removed a couple of registry entries that had been set, but i still could not find all of the guff it put in. Eventually i did a reinstall.

Hello

Lop.com actually has a removal program hidden in their website.

http://lop.com/help.html#uninstall

It's a complete pain.
