Question

Just upgraded my laptop to XP Pro, booted up this morning and my mouse has stopped working. If go to 'mouse' in the Control Panel and look at the hardware tab, nothing is listed.

HELP !

What should I do?

Thanks,

db

Talking

It's a MS PS2 Wheel Mouse.

I get no pointer or anything when I boot up with it connected, my mouse pad on the laptop also does not work if PS2 mouse connected.

If I don't connect the PS2 mouse, the mouse pad works fine.

The funny thing is, it has been working fine for the last 4/5 days...

well sounds like your ps2 mouse has died, try another one?

another way to test is to boot from a win9x bootdisc, load mouse.com and then run edit, you should have a pointer in edit.

Also if the mouse is dead, mouse.com will not find anything.
