Hi Si

I used 3D studio at uni for two years. I've not touched it for ages but it was great fun at the time. I am looking for a wire mesh for a site I am doing. It will have to be in jpeg or gif format as I don't have 3DS on my system. I don't know what I want but it's a site for corporate events such as dinner dances and Adventure weekends. Do you know of any good 3D sites that have good pictures of wire frames (not mapped)that I can use on my site.

Cheers

Jer

I wish it was me, but alas I'm just a beginner like you.

I started a website... http://voodooshack.tripod.com/
with the intention of it being totally graphical, but never found the time. I only put a link on the mailbox, door knocker and sign post in the end, but it was a start.

Grid is a member on here somewhere.

alot of it is clever tricks. as real life isn't perfect so images you make need to be imperfect to appear real. it's all about learning the tricks to make things appear real.
this is a good book if you want somewhere to start http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...830375-8090034
we used to have a graphical artist where I work, but he's moved on now. that used to be great cos every Monday I could ask him loads of questions

yeah, I've worked out a lot of it is about lighting. if you can get that right you'll get some good results.
Pop to a good book shop or PC world and have a flick through the book I mentioned. I'm sure it'll cover all you want to know.

animation is good fun too. try making a Newton's craddle

Hi Si,

Soz, been on holiday for a week and didn't see your reply.
Thanks very much. As you can tell I'm still learning the ropes, especially compared to Grid.
I'd be happy to send you the max file. Which one was it you were after, the car or the planets?

Cheers
