Ok,

Just upgrade a pc from ME to WIN2KPRO.....went fine, no problems at all. rebooted it a couple of times, ran a defrag, installed the required win2k drivers for plug and pray hp printer and ATIRadeon vivo 64mb graphics card, rebooted....still ok.
Closed pc down, went to pub..came back.....it boots, insists on running a disk check then reboots, insists on running a disk check then reboots, insists on running a disk check then reboots,....you get the picture...........it wasn't a clean build it was an upgrade the pc is a 128SDRAM 133hz with AMD TBIRD1200 on an ATX SOLTE SL75KV2 motherboard..........I rilly rilly need sugestions..oh it wont boot up into safe mode either

mate, this a works pc?

It sounds like something didnt finish installing properly. Can you see any error msgs before it reboots?
Can you get the bootup options at all when you press F5/F8 (which ever one it is)
try the last best configuration before the installed those last two things, uninstall them & see it boots back up normally. Then try installing them again

you havent changed any of the settings have you? or the chip? its purely W2K software upgrade? so i cant see it being a power shortage

INV.....sorry I dissappeared had to W**K. Here's the kicker,
It is the home PC of of my Boss's, Boss's, Boss's, Boss....this guy is GOD. (He also likes me to work on his computers ???) I can't really take it out of his house as it holds the deepest darkest secrets of HDS on it (somewhere). I reckon If I can boot the bugger and rip oyt the Graphics card driver I may have a chance thing is it wont go into any of the 'safe modes'..........think I am FCUKED

to continue the saga..........it now boots, I removed the video driver using repair console, reinstalled and all is fine......if you consider fine a 10 minute boot up and a sound card that, although the drivers are installed working fine won't produce any sound.
Have had enough...gonna do a back up and put a shiny new XP on it.
