Default best phone deal

So got 9 days left before i can give voafone the big heave ho.

Originally i planned to keep my s6 and just go sim only, problem is the battery is failing. So choices are to buy battery replacement kit on ebay and go sim only or get a new phone.

Best deal i found so far is an S8 on 3 Network with 8GB of data, unlim text, unlim mins for £35 a month with no upfront cost.

Any other sugestions?

P.S. No crapple

I've been looking too at the s8,I'm currently sim only with 3 unlimited data for £20pm
I only use about 18GB thought this deal for 30GB was a good deal:

Affordable mobiles usually have better deals than going direct to the network

Where are you seeing that for £34? its not on the three website. They don't offer a 8GB plan.

I always buy the phone out right sim free rather than sign up for a fixed contract. Problem with contracts, whilst you subsidise the cost of the phone over the term of the contract, come the end of the contract, if you don't change to another contract, you will still continue to pay the same monthly cost despite having already paid off the cost of phone at the end of the contract term.

Well yea that's why you end the current contract and start another.

I don’t think there is any subsidised phones anymore by the time you work out what a sim only contract price is compared to a monthly contract with say a free phone.
I pay £16.50 a month on EE with 18gb data, unlimited minutes, txts and picture messages plus my phone contract abroad. It’s that good a deal I can’t find a phone contract that will better it. I usually never use WiFi as I have no need to but if I’m getting close to my data limit I just use my home WiFi for a day or two

Mobiles.co.uk is also a good site for deals, it's owned by Carphone Warehouse but beats their CPW prices by a mile.

I'm sim only and pay £1 a month for 4gb data 4000 minutes and texts due to a misprice posted on HUKD over a year ago that was honoured by the network so for me it's always a case of looking to buy the handset outright to keep my sim deal going.

It was originally said they would honour for 6 months due to it being a misprice but 6 months passed and they just left all the customers who got the deal on it. I won't be giving it up willingly

Contract runs out tomorrow so rang vodaphone to get my pac code.

After waiting 45 mins on hold to get through to someone, Well bugger me, their deals on the S8 have 'just' changed and they can do a better deal.

Had 2 options,

8gb data, unlim, unlim, £33 a month £30 for the handset (S8) (£822 Total)
16gb data, ulim, unlim, £33.60 a month and £10 for the handset (£816.40 total)

£5.60 cheaper over the term and 8gb data extra a month, so went for that. 3's best deal was 8gb for £36 a month with free phone. New Phone arrives monday

His price includes the handset. His only issue is it’s with vodaphone so luckily their crap signal means he can never come close to using his allowance
