Why are modern phones so mahoosive?
Back in the day, mobiles were bricks. They got smaller and smaller, now they are getting larger and larger.
I presently have an Experia Z3 Compact. I bought it because it had everything the Z3 had, except it was smaller...same waterproofing, same camera, same processor, etc.
But this year, the compact version of the Sony phone is heavily downgraded.
My contract is up in June...what to get? Or do I go SIM only until someone releases something worth having?

Im using an LG V10 dual sim 5.7" I like the phone a great deal, its been reliable and functions very well. I particularly like the fact I have 2 sims and a 256GB SD card.
I'll wait for the LG V30 iteration and the Galaxy S8 duos to compare feature and performance before considering anything new.
If you guys want phones with much less bloatware, buy them from the far east.

Went for the xiaomi mi max instead. Camera isn't good in low light and you have to choose between a 2nd sim or sd card, but the 6.44 inch screen is incredible and battery life is 2 days easily. Incredible bit of kit for £135.

You know what they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I can't help but admire the simplicity and longevity of its design. An old piece of technology that still facilitates the gold standard by which audio quality is judge and provides an audio experience that is yet to be surpassed by any modern tech. The headphone jack was invented in the last century and will continue beyond this century....unlike, say, the Lightning port.

Give it time, I'm sure bluetooth headphones will have their unique set of problems. I've not had any issues you've described with my wired Klipsch earbuds and I've never been worried about losing one of my earbuds, or worry about batteries or how much charge I have left, or have pairing/syncing issues or randomly disconnecting during calls etc....it just works.
