Smile Fancy a dji phantom3 advanced, you got one?

Hi all
Fancy getting myself a dji phantom 3 advanced, has any one got one of the phantom 3 and can offer any tips and tricks or advice. Been into photography and video work for a few years, fancy taking to the air for a while.

If you can afford to lose it, buy it, you'll have a lot of fun.

I had the first DJI Phantom, awesome bit of kit. Not tried any of the newer Phantom versions, but have friends who use them and love them.

I fly a few different birds now, a DJI Inspire, a custom built hexacopter using a Tarot 680 frame, but with longer arms so I can run bigger props. And a FPV racing quad.

All of them have different uses, the Inspire 1 is purely for photo and video. It quite simply amazing when it comes to stability, and has a 4K camera.

The Tarot based hexacopter was built to lift a heavy DSLR camera for more detailed photos.

And of course, the FPV racer was built for speed!

The Phantoms are great, really well designed and have lots of features. Just read lots about using them and you wont have any issues. Ive been flying drones for a few years now, had a few crashes with my Phantom in the early days, problem for me was judging how far away obstacles were from the bird!

I did however make a mistake on one flight, very nearly cost me my Inspire 1, totally my fault for not remembering to check the condition of the battery before flight, yes it was shown as being fully charged, but one of the batteries cells were low on voltage and caused the battery to go from 54% full to 7% full while the Inspire was around half a mile away from me. It was pretty much shear luck that I got that bird back. I lost all video feed and could not see it, but somehow managed to get control and land!

I say go for it, you will love it, just read about them in great detail. And be safe.

We used a phantom 3 professional to film stuff out in Jordan, brilliant piece of kit, I'd thoroughly recommend anyone to get one!
