Default Can I turn Capslock off?

Whoever designed keyboards wants killing. WHY is the capslock button so big? WHY is it right next to a common letter like an a? I touch it, type for a while, look up and it's all in capitals.

So...is there a trick to turn it off?

Windows 8.1, ASUS X552C laptop.

TIA

Ahh laptop keyboard fail.

Trying to make a conventional Qwerty layout keyboard smaller and fudging it up ergonomics in the process: Usual favorite cockups are the arrows and the home/end/pgup and pgdn keys.

Solution? Remove the keytop off the capslock key?

Out of date? how can a design that has been used for decades and more to the point works just fine be out of date? You must have the biggest caps lock key known to man. Usually on lappies they are smaller anyway compared to desktop keyboards Go on a secretary course

Errrrr, because it was designed to SLOW DOWN typing when typrewriters were mechanical? It's neither intuitive, nor easy, but has to be learned....I mean, QWERTY.....really?? And the continentals use AZERTY, just to make it impossible to use both easily.

How can something so stupid have endured this long? Once we got electronic typing, they should have offered an alphanumeric one too.

Ummm?

Surely we could get rid of the stupid QWERTY keyboard in a generation...no more learning the keyboard.
