Default Which laptop

Ok so flying to Texas tomorrow and might pick up a new laptop
I'm down to 2 choices

MacBook Pro 15 with ATI 370 cost 1550 quid stateside
Asus zenbook pro 501 960 quid

Now the zenbook is a 4K screen Windows 10 960m card but had a large psu
MacBook is a MacBook I,ll shove Windows on it also, but psu is smaller.

I will however have to buy new psu when I get home as the apple one with be a yank version. Just need to see what as us psu looks like might be just a kettle plug change....

No you wont, the kettle lead plugs into the white magplug charger unit with a figure 8 plug, you get a figure 8 lead for pence anywhere...

The worldwide warranty on the MacBook will be excellent, ask for a UK keyboard, you might get lucky.

so after much research and testing i eventually went Asus Zenbook Pro 501

The mac was nice however when i was gaming on it its stepped down heavily lowering the Framerate, i also noticed this on the older top of the line one, which kinda defeats the object of having that ATI370.

The Asus screen is better its touch and also 4k so res is 3xxx X 2xxx and very crisp, its better than retina for clarity but not as bright.

VGA wise it has the GTX 960M so flys, and a Core I7 16gb ram and a 512 PCI-E drive. and i not joking when i say it takes about 4 seconds from poweron to windows... near instant...

I also find i need windows moe than MAC os due to work stuff. Visio security software etc.

I will get a mac at some point but I'm gonna try the work angle first, see if they will buy me an Air or something.

Anyway Hurricaine Patricia is over me now in Texas but its just rain and wind, these Yanks are ******..

Fvckme that is quick

I have a (work) HP Z Book - I7, 32GB ram and 512GB SSD - it is nowhere near that

That looks like it has hyperdrive!!!!!!!!

presumably that is to the logon screen though - not too a workable desktop, unless you have auto logon enabled!!

My Spectre was that quick...on win 8.1. However since win 10 and a few updates its added another five seconds to get a usable desktop.

I still have McAfee on it which is notorious for hogging resources, so when I get round to, its being replaced with Eset Smartsecurity which should help.
