Default Win 10 and live TV (freeview)

So, with the demise of media centre, what alternative software are people using to view live TV via a TV tuner on a PC?

I think the most popular at the moment is Kodi.

You can install Media Centre if you want though.

I kind of glazed over when I read through Kodi in trying to set it up, so tried Mediaportal. I was given the impression it was more plug and play (it isn't).

Again not plain sailing in setup, default skin is buggy, I have no EPG, all the channel numbers/organisation is screwed up (i.e BBC1 is on channel 52) and the tuner take ages to change channel and it throws a 30second tissy fit if I select a channel with no signal.

Will have another bash at Kodi.

Failing that the TV dongle came with some software, which I have installed....but it needs the serial number off the box for the original CD, and I'll be damned if I can find it.

Don't think you can on Windows 10, Microsoft have dropped all support for Media Centre post 8.1 AFAIK.

Personally I'm sticking with Windows 7 for the foreseeable (on my media PC).

Shame really as for once M$ did a really good job of something with Media Centre.

I've not tried it, but: http://www.gottabemobile.com/2015/09...in-windows-10/

Can't say I really miss it, but it was nice for free

Probably missing something but tvguide.co.uk allows you to watch a good number of live tv stations for free
