Question Origin laptops

Anyone had any experience with origin laptops or pcs?

Strongly considering an origin laptop but as they are usa based with the bulk of their market there, and little presence in the uk (I believe), bit curious about performance and reliability/tech support.

What sort of spec are you looking at? You may find that some of the UK builders are easier to deal with though the Origin reviews seem pretty positive, you would have to send the pc/laptop away if you had any issues with it.

^ that's my main concern regarding the issues.
The spec would be pretty high, the 17" slx model customised to approx £3k

Any uk builders you might recommend?

I was looking at scan's 3xs systems but ended up being lazy and buying an MSI GT72 this week, scan are not as pretty but boy do they pack some punch.

Ok, CCL do them

http://www.cclonline.com/product/171...SLI-/NOT01213/

Box do them
http://www.box.co.uk/MSI_GT80_2QE_%2...K_1728984.html

PC nation also

http://www.pcnation.co.uk/product/17...0-sli-win-8-1/

(these are all MSI authorised dealers off their site).

Mesh.

And Scanstation.
http://scanstation.co.uk/notebooks/n...sli-023uk.html

Funnily the price varies by around £55 between them, still all are authorised dealers so take your pick

Scooby use pcspecialist these guys have been going for years, their top laptop is a beast, dual sli 980s extreme core i7 etc.....

CCL is close to me I use them a lot however I'd still go pcspecialist for a gaming rig.

Also Alienware the support on these is second to none using DELLs backbone guys at the door the next day, something you won't get with others, also your spec if you notice DELL are I think the only one that gives you the new docking station for the Alienware this baby takes a full size VGA card to compliment your laptop, so imagine shoving a Titan in or that new 80.

I've been a gamer for ever and had many a laptop, my last two were the asus models that look like a stealth bomber and a dell core i7 extreme workstation model. I,ll be honest and say mate overheating happens in them all unless you use a cooling tray or solid surface,

As for,Orion I had a ROCK extreme laptop same chassis but built in the UK, when it went wrong they just wrote it off and left me with cash, bit crap really.

The Alienware may not look as powerful as you want it but travelling the gtx980 is more than, powerful for your remote needs then once at home you dock it and use the external Titan box...

Let me know what you go for.... But I'd use

Alienware or pcspecialist, but alien gets my vote purely for the proper external VGA option and the bob on support they give over others, return to base or third party onsite sucks

The MSI does look nice though

^ definitely a good suggestion.
However, the lure of the msi is proving too much so gonna go for that.

Do you have to have a laptop? Why not a desktop?
