OK, I know that I am out of the hutch but....

I need help, i know i posted the other week saying that i was having problems with IE, but that was on my LOFAP, problem has rectified itself.

i now have a problem on the one downstairs with is a desktop. i dont know what to do. you cant type in the address bar, if you wantt o put a web site address in you ahve to type it in another application and then copy and paste it into IE, i never had that problem on my LOFAP. it keeps crashing, not just on specific website, on all of them.

i cant format and re-install, i need a fix for this problem, is there something that i can download to make a fix for it?? again its IE 6.0!

Any of you knowledgable ScoobyNet-ers can help me??

Please help, i need a fix fast. got work to do on that PC, and so has my brother!

Cheers!

For the time being, until someone can come up with a resolution, Click on START, then RUN and then type in the website you want. e.g. www.msn.com
This will fire up a browser with website already loaded.

Are you running XP or Win2K Pro?

Are you running any bandwidth intensive apps (eg Limewire)? Had a similar problem with mine, which caused IE to crash every time.

Are you up-to-date with the Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6 updates available of the Microsoft web site.

If not it will be worth getting these updates installed to see if this cures the problem.

Cheers

Hi Clare.

This may not fix it but probably worth a check..

SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to start a program or view a Web address by using the Address toolbar, nothing may occur.

CAUSE
This issue can occur if you have the Address toolbar enabled, but do not have the Quick Launch toolbar enabled.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, right-click the taskbar , point to Toolbars , and then click Quick Launch .

Has someone else loaded any new software onto the machine since it was last working correctly. Or have they maybe changed some settings somewhere
