Default People within Hose Pipe area's.

Guys,

Is anyone else struggling with the hose pipe ban, the recent pants weather etc?

I need to wash the car and give it a few layers. But there is too mcuh cack on it to warrent a bucket or two and x2 bucket.

I am lucky I keep my car in the garage, but its used as my daily drive so anytime I use the car and its rained I put the car in the garage and come back to it and it's covered in water spots along with dirt picked up.

Just wondering if anyone else if having the say annoying scenario at the moment too?

a few lads have got a water butt or IBC tank, use the rain water and connect the power washers to them.

Got one of these at the weekend

Works a treat, though do make sure the hose length from butt to pressure washer is as short as possible as you lose a lot of pressure otherwise

I quite happily washed the car this sunday looking at all the cyclists and motorists driving past me going..'******* is using a hosepipe !! "

Cant wait for some ****** from Thames water to turn up before seeing the waterbutt

As above, but if you don't have a water butt a pressure washer will draw from a bucket with a short length of hose (just keep an eye on the water level). Or if you're feeling particularly smug, from a wheelie bin...

No hose pipe ban here though so no such issues for me.

Wow, the wheelie bin comment was inspired. I happened upon a fleet of them in the scrap compound at work, so pilfered one (with the permission of one of the guys there). I'll clean it up and plumb a tap into the front of it tomorrow! Thanks!

i normally run a rabbit over or hit a bird before washing as having blood on the car is classed as a health risk and thus allows you to use the hosepipe to wash car :-)

Indeed. Feel free to pop over and I'll throw some water at it for you (ideally not when it's stupidly hot though, the dirt will only be replaced by water spots then!).

Now you know I like you, but I dunno if I can't justify a 70 miles round trip and bridge toll to wash my car (which would probably get manky on the way home). I've got a rave trip to leeds to do Sunday and I begrudge the Poles or Iraqies washing my brum brum.
