Default How much would you expect to pay for a machine polish?

My car will be going in to the spray shop next week to have front & rear damage repaired. I was going to ask how much they would charge for a machine polish to rid the car of all it's swirl marks.

What in youir opinion would be a good price?

Spray shops don't really 'machine polish' rather than mop, which is normally a bad idea get the damage fixed and then find a detailer to correct the paint £180+ for a full correction with protection added

Yep, imo a bodyshop machine polish is a different kettle of fish to a correction.

Full correction by an insured detailer (crucial, what happens if you pay an uninsured cowboy and he burns through your paint?) should be approximately £300 per day, and it'll be 3days minimum.

Anything taking less time than that isn't full correction and stages will be skipped, and corners cut.

Then it'll be full of orange peel, not refined properly and probably look worse than when you started.....

At £300 quid a day, it's actually not that expensive: take the hourly rate and compare it to what a main dealer 'mechanic' costs an hour

Just get a normal mobile detailer to do it for normal people prices Will be more than adequate to make good your daily whip. I like a proper detail and the money is well worth it on a flash motor, but I wouldn't buy my daily cornflakes from Harrods and I wouldn't spend £900 on a daily runner
