Not used either of these products. Megs apc is very good though and my interior cleaner of choice.

Meguiar' All Purpose Cleaner diluted either 10:1 or 4:1 is a good all round choice for carpets, but for more delicate seating materials I would suggest 303 Fabric & Vinyl Cleaner diluted either 20:1 or 10:1. Links with more info (including how to use instructions) below...

Are these carpet cleaners ok to remove smells also?

The inside of my Pug smells grubby [probably due to a previous owner allowing a dog in it] and air fresheners are not really helping.

I find the megs apc does help remove the smells. Biggest thing to make sure is clean the whole of the interior, headlining and all the plastics as well as the seats and carpets. These will also be holding the smell.
