Something like that AG tar remover or autosmart tardis clean.

Spray it on a section at a time, leave to soak, then wipe away.

But if you are careful enough when you remove the bump strips (with the aid of a hair dryer) the glue pads should mostly come away in one go.

Adding onto Darrens idea, could you try the hairdryer and some fishing wire to slice away like you would if removing bootlid letters??

Adding to what Andy wrote, instead of fishing wire, try tooth floss.

thats a good idea. i will Try the fishing Wire and a Hair Dryer, If that Ag tar remover does as it says on the tin (wipe on, leave, wipe off) then that should be ok, as i guess the AG is ok to put over the paint work.

Yes it is fine, just don't leave it on. After you have removed the bump strips and the glue, wash, clay and (re wash) then polish and wax.

For ease of use I put a bottle of the AG tar remover into a spray bottle I had spare and sprayed it on the 205 one day when cleaning. I didn't bother washing the car again (tarred it after washing for some reason), just hosed with the Karcher and thoroughly clayed it before waxing afterwards.

Is good stuff, not the same level as the Tardis but it's just easier to get hold of for some reason

Ok great thanks lads,

so its as easy as.

fishing Wire to get them off. (use the hair dryer or no point?)

spray tar remover on let it do its business for 10mins or so, come back wipe off.

i dont have a Clay bar so,

Wash, dry, Wash again Dry. Polish, Wax

Done

Dont rate the AG Tar Remover at all.....

Buy some Autosmart Tardis ( even go halves with a mate to drop costs ) will save you money in the long run as it is a QUALITY product...alternatively Bondauto sell a very good Tar Remover in 500ml bottles for about £4...and it will do a much better job than AG

I'll be honest as I haven't ever tried anything apart from the AG tar remover so can't comment. Agree though as it is very easy to get hold of from Halfords in comparison to other stuff. About £5 a bottle isn't it, unless they have an alternative.

Polished bliss do the Tardis but it will kill for postage I'd have thought

Tardis all the way. The AG t&g isn't a patch on it and works out really expensive in comparison.

Please do not use Royal Mail to do this; Tardis is classed as Dangerous, and should be mailed in boxes showing appropriate chemical hazard symbols. May seem like overkill, but think of the Royal Mail staff if a leak occurs. Couriers will carry it no problem for you as long as its labelled properly.
