Default Which machine polisher?

I worked as a weekend lad in a local back street garage a few years back, and used to use their machine polisher for buffing up paintwork on faded for sale cars
Anyway, my 97 Impreza (and my partner's 99 Leon) both have scratches in the paintwork from previous owners use of car washes.
I want to gently mop the paintwork on both cars - does anyone recommend a half- decent electric polisher? I think the one I used years back was a sealey - it was like an overgrown angle grinder with a top handle added, but used to do a crackin' job.
Any ideas?

the meguiars g220 is a good piece of kit. its dual action so is not as harsh as a porter cable or makita one and you can get a full kit for around the 150 - 160 mark.

Plus, the customer service is brilliant. A friend of mine had one and it broke down, they couriered him out a brand new one within two days.

Have a look on ebay at the kits mate, definately worth a punt.

failing that, the kestral das6 is a bit cheaper.

25% off special offer on G220 kits running at the moment; you'd need the intermediate paint kit for the cars mentioned, which is currently out of stock pending a delivery of pads, but these are expected in 7-10 days time. See here for details...
