What you really need to do is find a good wax that you are happy with to lock in your polish and then top it off each time with a quick detailer.
What colour is your car? This could make a difference.

[cheap plug] The Gloss it range of products are getting good reviews at the moment [/cheap plug]

What you need is Natty's Paste Wax by PoorBoy's. On Darker coloured cars it looks absolutely amazing.

poorboysworld.com

There are U.K Suppliers so have a Google for them.

If you want to get you car looking at it's best, you'll need a whole day on it (9am - 6pm), it'll take alot of work but the results will be worth it.

I spent 7hours cleaning the exterior of my car and did the following processes:

- Wet wash with PH neutral wash & wax using 2 buckets (one for shampoo, one to rinse wash mit)
- Clay bar with a decent lube. Quick Detailer works well but try a cheaper one as you'll be stripping it off again shortly.
- Paint cleaner/cleanser to help remove swirls.
- 2x layers of Polish.
- 2x layers of Glaze
- 2x layers of Sealant
- 2x layers of Carnauba wax
- Finish off with Quick detailer. I recommened Meguiars NXT Speed Detailer.

After that you'll have a deep, wet look shine that will last for months, just keep topping it up with Quick Detailer and adding more wax now and again for protection. I applied the above to a yellow car, a hard colour to add depth and reflection too (unlike black) and you can see the minute details of reflections in the paint work clearly.

poorboys natty is a good choice for the money but you will need to top it up practically every time you wash it as its not that durable.....
If you want good looks from wax & durability then try Collinite Mark D'Elegance, a pot will last ages, beads nicely & it last ages on the car.

Very true, doesn't last long so tops ups will be 2weekly or even weekly if it's a daily driver. Dodo juice hard waxes are a good choice, last for ages but take a while to apply and for the better stuff, you'll pay quite a premium. I hear Collinite is great though, no experience with it myself however.

Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 is a good sealant, beads for months. I'd recommend that if using a wax that perishes quickly.

If you wash it carefully and protect the finisdh with a good wax/sealant you should only need to polish it 1-2 times a year. See this thread for an in-depth guide to what to use and why on WR Blue for best results - example images also included in it...
