I am a big Poorboys fan and I love using Super Slick & Suds. I love its smell, its wash abilities and it non stripping wax method.

Megs hyper wash can be used to wash the car as a normal car shampoo, although never used it myself only for Snowing.

A really popular car shampoo I have come across time and again is Megs shampoo plus. Not sure what is so special about it to be honest, but it must be good if quite a lot of detailers use it.

I'd go with what Darren says above. Or as another option I currently use Autoglym Shampoo. It's a nice smooth texture and kind to paint surfaces.

As long as you rinse throughly, cleans the car a treat with a good wash mitt

Tried a few shampoos

Blackfire - way to expensive and didnt wow me
megs NXT - average but I found it stripped wax
Poorboys - not bad at all and good value
megs gold class - another good value shampoo with very good results
megs hyper wash - great foaming shampoo through my foam gun and also great in a bucket

for value for money i can't see anything touching the megs hyper wash, something daft like about 120 washes if you use a 5litre bucket i think most guys use it for foaming but i've found it pretty good for bucket use.

doesn't seem to stay as foamy as the Jeffs shampoo i used to use, so if money was no object i'd go with the Jeffs but that's just my personal choice

if you do go for the hyper wash, just buy syringe off ebay to measure out the right amount, squirt it into the bucket and put your water in. correct amount every time

You guys are taking things to the extreme here

Buying syringe's to measure out the correct amount of car wash shampoo.

You need to get out more

Admittedly it's a more thorough approach, but if you haven't anything to add to the thread - **** off.

For the record, I just use the cap lid to measure out how much I need for a bucket

For the record I just pour some meguiars gold class in a bucket until its looks like the same amount as four cap fulls

which takes about the same amount of time to measure it out properly.

don't get me wrong, it's a bit OTT, but horses for courses and even i can't **** it up

also, with the hyper wash it's so concentrated you could very easily put in twice as much as you need, you really need that little of it. again, not really a massive issue, it's just a 5 second operation that's 100% right all the time.

When you rince if off with the hose, rince from top to bottom of the car and the water runs off, leaving the car pretty much dry, explained in the instructions on the back of the bottle

Don't use leathers, use a waffle weave or similar towel. Much kinder to your paintwork and a much reduced risk of marring and scratches as your dabbing the car clean and not wiping possible dust/dirt particles round.

(Going by Polished Bliss' guide anyways).

I use a clear plastic beaker which I have marked with the amount of soap I need for my bucket.

A Waffle I normally put chocolate sauce on them
Jokes a side I might try one, not that I have had any issues with leathers tho.

Not until you look closely under light and see the scratches using a leather causes. Depends how **** you are, but for me personally a waffle weave is easier.

I highly recommend Fairy liquid.. Seriously. It's great for removing everything. The grease, grime and even years of crap wax n polish ready for you to start your new layers.

Check my partners tigra > HERE 1997 VAUXHALL TIGRA MARINE GREEN on eBay, also, Vauxhall Opel, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 14-May-09 12:38:51 BST)

last lady owner never cleaned it in like 5yrs so the bulild up was intense. A little fairy and some autoglem and da dan...

Yeah ok, I'll use a kitchen abrasive to attack my 21 year old car paint.

Sorry, I'll use something intended for cars fella.
