it is a white car and all the underbonnet is a brown/beige colour so i'm fully expecting to have to t-cut the paint, is using snow foam a bad idea in there??? which degreasers are best to use???

Put the T Cut on hold. Is the brown residue from a burst pipe? Try a degreaser Gunk or similar together with a selection of brushes.Prior to applying degreaser. Cover your alternator and alarm. Spray liberally Rinse with a low pressure hose. Repeat as necessary. Then apply finishing product such as Autoglym rubber care

Beefy, I found the Autoglym engine degreaser to be brilliant when I first attempted to clean my now sold Scoobs engine bay. From Halfords at about £6.99. did the trick for me and works on all sorts of other bits too

Or, you could ring up Polished Bliss and ask for a little advice from them. Very helpful when I've rang up.

should have done it while the engine was out really, but work has kept me away from it, couldn't really ask my mate to do it as he's doing the engine as a favour.......

Full guide to safe and effective wet engine bay detailing here...

Car Care Advice - Engine - How to safely clean and protect your engine bay

I'd suggest stepping up to Meguiars Super Degreaser cut 4:1 (instead of the R222 TAW shown in the guide) to tackle really stubborn grime, followed by 303 Aerospace to reprotect all surfaces afterwards.
