Standing Water
Hi Hi
...ummm kinda continuing from a previous post, water seems to stick to my car.. after a rainy night all the other cars are dry but mine has loads of water stuck on it.
any ideas how I can get it to not retain water like a sponge ?
I've polished and waxed it not long ago, which i thought would cure the problem... then again, I must have not been doing something right!...

Some waxes and sealants have better water sheeting abilities than others, Some just bead the water up, so its easy to remove ie lots of tight little bubbles (which unfortunately hold the dirt when they dry) and other sheets the water off well.

Yet more evidence for a bonded contaminant problem on your paint - bonded contaminants can create a microscopically rough surface, which tends to prevent water from running over it as freely, meaning that the surface holds water and stays wetter for far longer than perfectly smooth surfaces (and this can happen even if the contaminated paint surface is freshly waxed or sealed, as the thickness of the fresh protection layer is rarely sufficient to cover over the contaminants).
