Default Pressure Washer

My Karcher K3.91 I think is coming to the end of its life. It has been used every month for almost 2 years now. Reason I am saying this is that when I have it connected up to the mains supply and water it is making a sucking noise of its own accord. When I have the vairo lance it seems to work fine, but when I use the HD autobrite Foam Lance the pressure is non-existent - A bit like the gilmour. So I think it is time to get a better quality PW.

What can Scoobynet members recommend me that will fit the HD autobrite Foam Lance, be used every month, good pressure, and very Heavy duty in design, Decent length hose from unit to gun, vairo and dirt blaster lances.

Budget no more that £400.

Cheers

Darren

P.S. what is the best way to clean the Foam Lance after use?

you can get a 6hp honda powered petrol pressure washer with vairiable pressure adjustment up to 2700psi & consumes 11lpm of water. northerntools.com think mine was £375.

Rob, I did not really want to go petrol powered to be honest. Electric/cold water is just fine. But thanks anyways

that's not much life from a karcher. mine usualy gets hit at least 2 full days each week and it's only just developed a leak which i should be able to fix.

haven't the karchers still got a 3 year guarentee? if they have get it fixed / replaced under this and it won't cost you a penny. should get a fresh guarentee as well.

Do I contact Karcher direct or the place I got it from? I brought the PW from B&Q, Bletchley, MK.

Best money I have spent was/is on my Kranzle 7/120.
It can draw from a tank, will draw from a well by itself 2m underground, and the slow motor wont burn out. Very well made and cost £350 all in but they are built to last and purpose built for my detailing needs. I've managed to run out in my water tank, filled a bucket and its sucked from there fine too!
I have had several Karchers, a lavor (better than the karchers) but the Kranzle tops them all.

Regarding the foam lance Autobrite have a webpage that tells you how to service the lance, but possibly the mesh filter could be blocked or scummed up with limescale.
When I moved to the Kranzle I just phoned Mark at Autobrite and he sold me a new brass fitting that I attached to the lance so I didnt need to buy a whole new lance.

Could you please post the link to this as I would be most grateful Thanks

I e-mailed Karcher through the forum on the website and I got a reply to contact 'Connect' who I phoned and he gave me a local company that did repairs. Cut the story shorter, Karcher only has 1yr guarantee on its products! So I will have to pay for the part (s). I have asked the company to look at it and see what needs replacing and go from there.

I got a phone call from the company that was going to look at repairing the PW and its the cylinder head that gone. Price for a new one, £98 and the price I paid for the unit new, was £99. So its going in the skip.

So I need a much more robust heavy duty one.

Car valeting supplies, valeting products, detailing products for the conversion parts.
If you are going to buy a new Kranzle I used Pressure Washers-Electric Pressure Washer-Honda Pressure Washer pretty highly thought of in detailing circles and very good service and customer service.

Thanks Tim. I was thinking about getting a Kranzle PW rather than a Karcher. They look more sturdy and up to the task more so than Karcher.

I quite like the look and spec of this one. Is it the same bayonet fittings as Karcher?

No, you'll just need to swap to a Kranzle fitting, see the fitment picture on this page for a gander - it screws straight into the injector head...

Thanks PB. Still not sure yet what to go for. Not having a PW at the minute is not nice when there is lots of road grime about.
