A little Vax :)
I had bought this little scamp a few weeks ago
Vax V-020 Carpet & Upholstery Washer Shampooer £99 N/R on eBay, also Other Vacuum Cleaners, Vacuum Cleaners, Cleaning, Laundry Vacuuming, Home Garden (end time 06-Jun-08 21:30:00 BST)
and was wondering when I could have a go at it. well today was nice and sunny so out I went.
Now the guys on DW and in here like before and after shots and 50/50 ones, but to be honest it was quite difficult to say the seats were dirty by just looking at them, but the proof is in the bucket as they say !!
Hoovered the whole car and brushed down the seats, back and front to make sure they were clean and free of dust and muck.
Then vaxed the interior , making sure I did all the back of the front seats and bolsters.
The finished article
Now to the proof of what a complete dirty bugger I am
The inside of the vax machine after being emptied
And the bucket !!
My girlfriend saw what a good job I had done on my scoob, so demanded that I do hers as well
And she is a complete minger..look at the state of her car !!
Not a bad result I think

It is quite shocking to think that I had been driving around in the car when all that muck was underneath me
I used the shampoo that came with the Vax. One bottle did 2 cars.
You can use any low foaming shampoo TBH, such as the Rug Doctor stuff etc.
And yes it is safe on the Alcantara, as most of my seats are done in that.
Suede...you may have to take professional advice on that as suede has different wet/dry properties to alcantara.
For instance I did not do my Girlfriends door cards on her 95 WRX as they are a suede material, but I could do mine as my MY00 scoob is trimmed in normal fabric in the door cards.

No problems mate. The Vax works on the principle of shoving in warm water to a controlled depth and then as you drag the upholstery tool back, it sucks the same water back up through the head whilst lifting and dragging the dirt upwards. So once you know that, then you can guess that the forward stroke lays the water down and the backwards (towards you) stroke brings the dirt out. Simple With me so far
Vax has a water tank in it that is round and looks like a rubber ring. This is where the soap (Vax own or something like Rug Doctor detergent) and warm water sits. There is a hose going into it from the top which sucks the clean soapy water up and then deposists the dirty water in the big blue tank. This can you can see in the picture.
One big hose with a smaller clear hose that wraps along the length of the big hose and ends up at the head. This small hose carries the clean water and the big hose carries the dirty water back to the tank.
So the steps are
1. Hoover (dry ) first
2. Use the wax in forwards and backwards motion over the seats.
3. Dont linger too long on a section as it will soak it and take too long to dry
4. Keep your doors open for a few hours after
5. Do it on a sunny warm day if possible
