First detail with Meg's G220
Thought I'd clean the wife's car up after the winter and kill 2 birds with one stone and try out the G220 as I don't have much experience with machines!
Used the 2 bucket method with Megs shampoo, then clay bar and finally removed all the stubborn tar with Autoglym tar remover.
Decided to remove all 4 wheels to get access to and clean the mudlaps and paint the brake calipers
then it was onto the wheels
These were cleane with megs alloy wheel cleaner, sealed with muc off sealant and waxed with hyperturismo wheel wax, finally tyres were dressed with blackfire tyre gel.
Then it was onto the body and the G220, I started taping up the trim,(never done that before, neighbours thought I was going to paint the car!!) but really helped with the machine policshing
Even though the car looks really clean, loads of swirls and marks
So went on to use menzerna 106, then final finish polish and then blackfire sealant and finish it off with Blackfire carnauba Wax, which I think really brings out the blue
Then finally did the interior with Poorboys (smells lovely), the leather with megs leather cleaner, the windows with megs glass cleaner and the all the black trim with megs trim detailer (phew, it was a lot of graft, but I'm really happy with my first attempt!!)

Almost as good as black ("View my Scooby") when shined up . Infact, lets not go down the best colour route ! Don't think there is a Scooby standard colour that's a bad one to be honest.
Forgot to say, good work on the wheels, suit the car too.

Yeah, black cleans up really nice as well, the only downside I found with our last 2 cars (both black) was that they showed up the slightest mark, so were murder to clean all the time. I really like the wheels on her car as they are hypersilver and really shine well alongside the blue paintwork. My car has black 5 spokes with a polished lip, but those photo's will be for next weekend if the weather stays nice!!

Cracking job Mike, bet your itching to do yours now. Liked the fact you done the Mrs car first, gets you in the good books but really if you were going to bugger anything up it would be her car that gets it!

What did you clean your mudflaps with Mike? I treated the bolts with copper slip and got the same 'run' mark down the mudflap. Have tried AG Tar Remover but looks slightly faded where the 'run' was.

Just been linked to this thread off another forum (sorry do dredge up the past!) but I had to make a comment - fair play for a first timer and all done in a day, that's better than some "pro" detaillers' work that I've seen #
You've inspired me - I'm going to get my brother's PC out maybe this weekend and treat my car to a bit of buftying
