Washing after polishing?
Hi Guys,
I was wondering whether super snow foam can strip a layer of wax off if its used in too high a concentration?
I spent last weekend with a clay bar and the Megs 3 step system and the car looks great, but I don't want to lose all that protection. I did use a 1:1 mix when cleaning off a would a 4:1 mix be better?
Or should I use a more gentle wash in between waxes.
Cheers
Richard

It depends on the make; there are a fair number of super snow foam style products on the market, and some are gentle enough not to strip last step products, while others are highly alkaline and will strip the lot! If in doubt get a pH test kit from a garden centre and test it - any higher than 7.5-8 and I'd skip it. Next time you buy, Meguiars Hyper Wash is a safe bet that offers great cleaning power with zero stripping.
