For bug removal regularly, Poorboy's Bug Squash excels, and isn't too strong (although you'll still need to top up your wax/sealant after using it).
For removal of tree sap and tar as part of major periodic details; Autosmart Tardis Tar & Glue Remover is ace, followed up by a mild claying just to make sure the paint is 100% contaminant free.

What if you apply Diamond Brite, will it remove all tar and tree sap deposites? This I am told is the best way to protect the paintwork...the only thing I am worried about is that I will not be able to polish the car again This is what I love to do....

Diamond Brite is a protective product only, so you would need to prepare the paint properly first by claying and polishing. Diamond Brite, like most long-life sealants, lasts around 6-9 months at a time (despite the longer life claims), so it's fine to use it if you are prepared to reapply it once or twice a year (usually best done after claying and polishing, if needed). However, in terms of the finish, you can achieve far better results with other products that will last slightly less long. If you like spending time on your car, going with a more boutique style system to maximise looks will ultimately give you more joy! If you want some specific advice on what to use on your car, start another thread with some info on it's colour and condition and we can take it from there.

Detailing clay bars quickly and easily remove Insects, Tar, Stubborn Road Grime, Brake Dust, Exhaust Soot, Oxidation, Surface Rust, Paint Overspray, Factory Fallout and more.
Detailing clay removes harmful surface contamination and restores a smooth finish that feels and looks great!
