Default Stickers/vinyls Vs polish and wax??

i was looking to put some stickers on my car, and i was wondering if there was anything i needed to look out for when i polish or wax my car.

is it safe to apply products to the stickers, or do you have to go around them? would anything cause them to get discoloured or be left with smear marks etc?

cheers for any pointers

When I had my previous car stickered up I was told not to use any kind of polish or wax, only wash & wax when washing the car and then use a chamy (spelling) to bring it up nice.

Vynal graphics will dis-colour when polish & wax.

Chemical polishes are fine (such as Werkstatt Prime Acrylic), and most LSP's go over vinyl no problem at all - we've never avoided vinyl when working, well, apart from when using abrasive polishes by machine (obviously!).

That is a good point well put and I've often thought something very similar but at the end of the day, I'd spent £300 on the vinyl and £200 to get it applied, I didn't want to find out if it woud do any harm (Yes I do polish the STi sticker on the doors).

It will definately loose the matt finish if the vinyl has that to start with but simply washing and dry will do that over time.

Polished bliss will have as good-a idea as anybody but if you ask a polish manufacture (I asked Miguers) if there product is ok to use on vinyl decals, they reply with "You should check with the supplier of the vinyl".

I've been so tempted with my GT4 to polish it but flipped a coin and everytime it landed saying NO!
