Help ! - Marring again !
Last weekend I really went to town on my Subaru Impreza,
The aim was to get out the marring that was in the paintwork...
This was sorted by using Menzerna Final Finish Polish (PO106FF) applied using porter cable.... I then applied Blackfire sealant x2 coats and the finish looked fantastic !
Last night I done my weekly wash using the following products... wash schmit, Chemical guys wash and gloss, grit guard and 2 bucket method.. dried using poorboys blue towel...
Today in the sunshine, all my hard work was gone, the marring marks were all back ... grrrr - where did I go wrong on the washing ?
I have just spent the past 4 hours out with the pc again and we are back to perfect...
Any help or tips much appreciated...
Andy

seems strange as if your getting all the marring out then it can only be theres grit in your mitt or wax applicaters maybe even your drying process - very strange as scooby paint isnt soft not like honda paint where you press on to hard while drying and it marks

Spoke to Andy on the pone abut this, two things spring to mind: (1) I hate the schmitt concept, end of the day it's still a sponge, and will trap particles of muck aganst the paint when moved around, despite the shape (2) Andy's waffle weave towel might be geting a little long in the tooth, so time for a vinegar wash to soften the fibres (50 ml in the drawer in place of detergent, wash as usual, then again using detergent, then dry naturally) or to buy a new one! Also, Andy isn't pat drying yet - blot or pat dryng is a great method to use, as the more you avoid wiping anything across your paint, the less defects you will get. I blot dry with a waffle weave, then quickly QD the car with a quick detailer and a plush towel.
