I've taken mine off 3 weeks ago and used Toughseal Wheel wax on them. They seem much easier to clean, but there's no real product that seems to work 100%, well not that I've found.

Cheers

Autoglym Wheel Seal. Comes in a big white can for £6 from Halfrauds. Smells superb and gives a shine to the alloys. Dust and muck just sponge off each time!

Have to agree mate,i have tried a couple of different products and none seem to work THAT well and/or last very long................although i suppose it depends how often you clean your car,as every time you wash it,you wash off some of the product ?

i have white wheels (look in 'view my scooby') and clean then with Wonder Wheels then spray with Car Plan and polish lightly. after a few days when the wheels get brake dust on them and the weather is dry, i just dust them and the brake dust comes off really easily without the need to clean them again. when the wheels get wet i wait till they dry, and just just dust them. i wish i had done this for the last 3 years

and believe me, i am an expert at cleaning wheels now

I use muckoff (the mountainbike cleaning stuff) - seems to do a good job, but my wheels are buggered and need a good refurb anyhow..

Here's my routine, works great and not too difficult to stay on top of...

Weekly - thorough wash with normal suds, microfibre wash mitt and ultra safe spoke brush, then dry with old waffle weave towel

Monthly - wash as above, adding in Menzerna Gel 7.5 to help shift any stubborn dust, then add another coat of Poorboy's Wheel Sealant using a Megs foam pad, buff off with work towels

Quarterly/Half Yearly - after washing, remove wheels from car, check for any stubborn residue (if found remove with either Menzerna Gel 7.5 or failing that, acid based products), then apply basecoat of Jeffs Werkstatt Prime Strong, then a couple of coats of Wheel Sealant, then refit to car. The use of Prime Strong is optional, but I find it adds extra gloss to my jet black wheels, and add to overall levels of durability.
