Default What engine cleaner?...

I need to pick some engine cleaner up but not sure what is good enough....

I've seen a big can that Comma do, but not sure how hardcore it is.

Anyone recommend a good cleaner? There has been an oil slick in my engine bay so needs to be tough!!

Cheers

Gunk Spray or any decent Motorcycle de-greaser spray.

try halfrauds cd2 engine cleaning kit, worked wonders on mine and lasts a while.

smells like those runt sweets from years ago ;-)

obviously the smell goes after you have used it though.

Gunk is good, get scrubbing with a toothbrush too though. Problem with Gunk is that it stinks and the smell comes through the airvents for a good few days heh!

5t.

The best stuff I've used is Rockoil water soluble degreaser, it's a motorcycle product. Really good.

CD2 is good stuff, but unfortunately it's no longer available in the UK.

If you see any for sale, snap it up!

I emailed Turtle Wax (the company that make cd2) and they said there was no market for it in the UK so have withdrawn it from sale. Booo.

I have bought a can of Gunk but haven't got round to using it yet.

Here is a copy of the email I received:

Hi,

Many thanks for your enquiry, unfortunately this product was discontinued earlier this year due to low sales.

there are no current plans to re-launch this product, but all suggestions from consumers are taken on board, and are looked at as part of our new product development programme.

I found that gunk was ok on a car that's a couple of years old.

I'm trying to get an oil slick of an old car!!
