SWISSOL SAMURAI WAX
I`m a fan of Swissol products and was wondering if anyone had tried the Samurai Wax, and if it justified the £45 price? If not what other waxes are you guys using?

I have used both Samurai and Shield before excellent waxes but I now use this which IMHO is just as good for a lot less money especially on WR Blue.

What colour is your car? Do you use the Cleaner Fluid and if so how often?

When i brought the samurai kit I had WR Blue but now have Crystal Grey.
I use the cleaner fluid once every six months and wax the car at least once a month.
Wash weekly with swissol car bath. Initial outlay for the kit is tough but then you just buy the bits as you use them.

Brilliant stuff, i've got Saphir wax which is a bit dearer and has a slightly high concentration of carnuba wax but i'm sure any of the Swissol range would be pretty much as good.
My routine is almost the same as Neils, make sure u get the Swissol car bath as it's PH neutral and protects the layers of wax, oh and u gotta use the cleaner fluid before u use the wax as it removes all contaminates and surface crap that attaches to the paintwork, if anything this is the most important part of the whole process as it gives the wax a clean and flat surface to attach to.

Like Phil says u use the cleaner fluid once or twice a year, to be honest i've only done my STi once in the last 12 months with the cleaner fulid and it still looks superb, just keep waxing every month or so and it builds up a superb finish

you only need to do the clay bar and cleaner fluid process twice a year (if you use the car daily)
i have waxed the car, left it in the sun all day, put it in teh garage and put the car cover on, then the next weekend pulled it out of the garage, used a Swissol duster to remove any particles and got another layer of wax on, left to lustre in the sun for the day.
the surface feels 'wet' to touch and the metallic paint just sparkles.
I always sneered at paying so much for cleaning products byut i bit the bullet, tried it and wished i had done years ago, so easy to maintain a clean car.

I had this wax then tried Nattys Blue (15 quid!)

Lets just say the Nattys smashed the Swissol to Ebay

i use the samurai wax, but apply it when the car is wet. wash with the car bath solution & rinse thoroughly - dry with a micro fibre towel. i then use an old houseold spray bottle filled with evian water to lightly mist the surface of the paint and apply the wax (1 panel at a time) leave for about 10 mins and polish off. try it and see the results for yourself.

Thanks for all the help guys. As I said before the car is Crystal Grey I use it nearly every day but only for short distances (6k a year). I like the car to shine as well as being protected. I have used the Swissol Cleaner before with Meguiars Wax on my previous Impreza. When I bought the new car I only used Meguiars 3 Step DC and was pretty much happy, until I cleaned the girlfriends Silver A Class with Swissol and had the 2 cars side to side, you can tell the difference straight away. Swissol wins hands down! I`ll post some pics when the car`s had the full Swissol treatment.

Be good at some point in the future to come along to a meet and try the Werkstatt acrylic line up alongside the Swissol. For me, the Werkstatt range can't be beaten on light metallics, but I'm always open to seeing the finish other product ranges give.

Gotta be honest dont think swissol or zymols worth what you pay for them its relative to what youve used before ive had zymol japon/swissol samurai and swissol best of show wax and more besides, i buy P21s concours carnauba wax and use several other poorboys products,it aint always a case of you get what you pay for-not disputing as a protector theyre ok but from a finish point of view dissapointing after using poorboys/p21s which are unbeatable in my opinion.

ukdave - I`m not looking to win a Concours competion, I`m merely looking at a product that will give me protection, ease of application and a good finish and IMO Swissol does this job brilliantly. Not disputing your views and your car looks impressive but its a dark colour and mine is a light colour so its hard to compare them both. My original question was answered the 1st time I used the product. Each to there own I suppose.

sorry if i offended you mate but you did ask "If not what other waxes are you guys using?" if im polishing/waxing i want my car to look the best it can and in my opinion i get that with other products-sorry but P21s is great value for money and so easy to use (in my opinion.)
P21`s applied at the wkend http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...r/1b2e3105.jpg
last comment i promise-everyones entitled to their opinion on swissol ive just not been thrilled by it.

That finish looks great Dave
I've used Swissol in the past and got on well with it, but I have found with multipal layers it can feel slightly tacky/greasy to the touch if that makes sence ? Since running out I have changed to the Blackfire products, I first used a clay bar on the car to remove all old product plus any tar or sap etc then used the Blackfire polish followed by the wet diamond finish and it has really tranformed the paint finish. It does take a little time to apply two coats but applying regular and lightly it is quite easy in all fairness. I have just got the deep gloss spray sealant as well which I will use when drying the car off.
How's that

I used Swissol on my old DBM, but now have a Newage WRBlue and now I`m looking for some recommendations on a wax, the Blackfire stuff looks good . . ? Having also used Meguires in the past I didn`t rate that so I`m willing to spend a few quid . .
