new porter cable

just had a quick with my new pc and noticed a slight burning smell.
is this normal or am i doing something wrong

I don't really want to state the obvious but you have got a converter to change the 240v that we run on down to 110v, and haven't just chopped the US plug off and wired a UK plug to it have you.

sure have, did all the research through detailing world so got the converter from screwfix with the proper plug and extension cable.

Never heard of this happening before, but it could just be the fact it's new. Stick with it, see how you go - could just be the grease getting warm for the first time. If it starts to make odd noises or anything else then consider the option of sending it back - not good, so fingers crossed.
