Default Removing water marks??

I've just washed and waxed my WR Blue WRX, but there are still loads of water marks in the paint. Any advice? Most noticeable on the bonnet.

Also, I bought a second hand scoop which looks like bird droppings have eaten into the paint - would T cut bring them out?

Anyone find that Scratch X doesn't seem to do a real lot? Or am I expecting too much from it?

If the water marks aren't coming out chances are the clear coat is etched... and the only way to fully get them out will be to machine polish the panels. Compounding by hand is very hard work, and often won't get everything out. Do you know anyone with a Porter Cable who could help you out?

What's a Porter cable?

Is machine polishing bad for the car in general? Sorry, I'm clueless with paint...

Whats a realistic price for it?

Is machine polishing what is refered to as 'mopping' ?

Have a read of the following guide - machine polishing is not 'bad' for you paint, but it does remove a small amount of it. Mopping is indeed another term for it, but refers more to dealer prep before you buy the car.

How to safely polish your paint by hand or machine
