Paint protection - Recommendations please.
Hopefully in the next six months we will be getting a new (1-2 years old) car. The intention is to keep it for a number of years. Unfortunately we don't have a garage/carport and nowhere to build one.
So as the car will be exposed to the elements 365 days a year I was wondering if a paint protection system would be a good idea, an extra layer so to speak, to keep the paintwork in good condition.
I would have it applied by a specialist rather than a selling dealer option.
However I have no idea what is good or not, what works, what lasts etc, so what systems/products are recommended ?
Many thanks.
Brian.

I have my cars machine polished then a ceramic coating applied. It works well after every other wash i give it a wipe over with a top up spray. The only downside is a decent ceramic coating is not cheap. Have a look on Detailing World plenty of advice on there as to what works and what doesnt.
For an outdoor-kept car, paint protection film is absolutely worth it especially on the front end and roof. A quality film from a trusted specialist will take the UV, bird droppings, and tree sap hits much better than ceramic alone. Well worth the investment for long-term peace of mind.
