Format of Thread Replys
When I write a reply to a thread, it looks properly formatted i.e. spaces after full stops & comma's, double line spaces between paragraphs etc etc. When the it appears in the thread after I've hit the reply button, it is all squashed together as one long continuous line of text with all the origonal formatting removed. This has been happening on all 3 of my work PC's since the upgrade, but I hadn't reported it as I assumed it would get sorted as the initial bugs were ironed out. It's fine at home by the way.Phil

Ok, so it's not some weird combination of OS and browser. Hmm. I've tried posting in the same style you have from a machine here running XP Pro SP3 and IE7 (with all the latest patches applied) and I don't see the issue.
You say it's only at work where you see it and not at home. Do the work machines go through any kind of proxy server? I doubt it would cause the problem you are seeing, but it's worth checking on the off-chance.

Hi Guy's
Thanks for the reply's & sorry for the time delay in writing this, but have had a week away from work to decorate. (back to work today for a deserved rest!)
We do run proxy servers at work & also have very limited access to the internet, only approved, work related sites are allowed to the majority and we all have proxy passwords which allow us varying levels of access, but no one has unfettered access, even the MD would not be allowed to look at a **** site for example, it would automaticaly get blocked.
Certain files are filtered out, no matter what access you have, these include adverts & certain file extensions, so I can't see or use smiley's on this site (I just get a red x and the title of the smiley) or see the adverts. (not too worried about the advert thing obiously)
The strange thing, is that before the changes on this site I could see and use the smiley's and the formatting of my replys was "as written".
Our I.T. dept assure me that nothing our end has changed during the upgrading of Scoobynet.
It strikes me as strange that if I send a reply using the "quick reply" feature then it appears in the thread in the same style as it was written, but when using the std reply feature it is all squashed up.
Based on this I have tried changing an option in my CP, so we will see what happens when I hit the reply button in a sec.
I hope it works, otherwise this will be complete nightmare to read.

One other silly question (you'd need to switch the option back to try this), but what did the "Preview" button display? As in, was it formatted as typed or the squashed up version.
Good to know there is a quick fix to the problem, and it's known where the issue lies.
I've tried using the normal post reply option on my setup here (OS X and Safari) and I don't see the issue, so perhaps it could be something specific to IE7. When I get the laptop up and running I'll have a look and see if I get it, as my option may not have been set as yours was.

I tried selecting "enhanced editing" writing a reply and then hitting the preveiw button.
What I saw in the preveiw pane was a re formatted version of my reply (ie squashed together)
It also changed the text in the reply box to the following:

I tried selecting "enhanced editing", writing a reply and then hitting the preveiw button. What I saw in the preveiw pane was a re formatted version of my reply (ie squashed together)

I run the same OS at home with firefox as my browser but also have IE7 as an option, so I will try this again & see if I get the same results.
