Hitting the back button and it just refreshes the page im on, at home and at work, I have to go to the top left and click on the SN logo and go back through the opening page

Yes mine is doing the same this morning - combined with the 20 sec grey page before anything happens.
I'm getting very fed up off all the silly changes made by the new owners ! No real improvements whatsoever !

What browser and OS are you using? This will sound silly, but what back button are you referring to, one in the browser, or a link/button on the site? I'm going to guess that you're going to a thread, viewing the contents then clicking the back button to take you back somewhere and it's that which is not working.

Any chance of a link to what you were viewing before using the back button, then the link you viewed.

I had this with IE not at home with Firefox though.
Rather than click the SN link, select the dropdown on the back button and go back more than one line. That worked for me. Although it is ok today on IE6 anyway.

But I meant the dropdown next to the back button, it lets you select how many stages to go back, to save you pressing it so many times. That worked for me, was to go back two stages.

IE8 and it doesn't work for me, though if I double click it's OK. As I have IE8 the drop-down next to the back and forward arrows doesn't work

I have no clue why this is happening, sorry. It is also happening to me too.

I have flagged up the issue, hopefully someone in the know will have an answer soon, or fix for it.

Still doing for me too, for all the issues I wish the site was back as it was before all the changes

New features dont mean diddly squat when the basics dont work

Come on this is ridiculous. With the all the extra money from the advertising, this doesn't leave a very good impression!

Sorry for being off the rader a couple of days guys, Ive got a few issues to deal with on a personal level but this fault has been reported and will be rectified as soon as we can find a way to reproduce it for tests as it does not afflict everyone.

To this end, can people please give us some idea of browser version and OS if you don't mind?

I find that opening a forum but not opening a thread allows the back button to work, if I open a forum and then open a thread the back button stops working.

hope this helps find a fix.
